Setelah berjanji, maka dituntut kesungguhan kita dalam menepati janji tersebut. Kesungguhan dalam menjalankan segala perintah-Nya dan menjauhi segala larangan-Nya. Tanpa memilah dan memilah mana yang enak untuk kita, karena tuntutannya adalah kesungguhan menjalankan segala perintah-Nya dan menjauhi segala larangan-Nya tanpa pilah-pilih.

3. Muroqobah (Merasa diawasi)

Sebagai hamba yang beriman, tentu kita harus meyakini betul apa yang disebut pengawasan yang melekat dari Allah SWT. Ini menjadi penting manakala kita hendak berbuat maksiat, kita tersadar jikalau kita diawasi oleh Allah. Diharapkan dengan adanya kesadaran akan pengawasan Allah ini, keinginan kita untuk bermaksiat bisa berkurang.

4. Mu'aqobah (Menghukum)

Kita harus belajar dan berani menghukum diri kita jikalau kita melakukan kemaksiatan dan lalai dari mengingat Allah. Dengan menghukum diri kita sendiri, diharapkan mampu menimbulkan kesadaran dalam diri kita tentang suatu kesalahan. Kesalahan itu kelak akan dimintakan pertanggung jawaban oleh Allah. Hukuman diharapkan mampu menimbulkan efek jera bagi pelakunya.

5. Muhasabah (menghitung)

Apa yang dihitung? Amal baik dan amal buruk kita. Kita harus membiasakan diri menghitung-hitung amal kita, ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi diri apakah kebaikan kita yang banyak,atau justru amal buruk kita yang banyak?
